Holly Ballard Martz is a multidisciplinary artist who adorns and intertwines familiar objects – including vintage quilts, bra straps, hair, silicone, and discarded injection needles – in meticulous sculptural formations which reimagine their functional purpose and call into question the reliability of perception. In her paintings, sculptures, and assemblages, Martz activates found materials and fragments of language to explore gendered power structures and personal experiences of regret and grief.
